SPRING PILGRIMAGE: ROUTHLAND CIRCA 1817

Routhland, built as a Federal cottage, was the residence of Civil War Brigadier General Charles Clark, the 24th Governor of Mississippi. The interior features a large double parlor, softened with double arches, glowing fireplaces, crystal chandeliers, and classic antiques.

  • Surrounded by 16 acres of private land
  • Originally built in the Federal Style, remodeled into the Greek-Revival Style, and later into the Italianate style
  • Listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1977
