Pleasant Hill
After John’s daughter, Susannah, inherited the family home, this large frame townhome was moved one block southwest of its original site in the mid-1850s by John’s son, Thomas, who built Magnolia Hall. According to Susannah’s diary, Pleasant Hill was commandeered by a Union General at a time during the occupation.
- Henderson descendants occupied the home during the move until the 1970s
- The home was moved over a two year period using log rollers and oxen
